Where do "Cow Creek Riders'" dollars go?

The 24th Anniversary "Cow Creek Country Classic Bike Ride" on Saturday June 26, 2010 is the Waxahachie Rotary Club's major annual fund raising event. Each year's ride is produced and presented by Rotary volunteers, students, Boy Scouts, and other civic volunteers from throughout Waxahachie and the surrounding communities. There are no paid employees.

Each year's "Rider's Dollars" are deeply appreciated and extremely important to Waxahachie Rotary and the community as a whole. In return, we work quite hard to see that those dollars are "well invested" in improving the quality of life in the Waxahachie community. Over the prior 23 years, your ride dollars have enabled the Waxahachie Rotary Club to:

* Build and pay for a $60,000 log Boy Scout cabin in Chapman Park. Boy Scout Cabin

* Donate $25,000 to the construction of the new combined Boy's and Girl's Club / Salvation Army facility in Waxahachie. Salvation Army / Boy's and Girl's Club

* Contribute $15,000 to various Waxahachie YMCA expansion projects.

* Contribute $10,000 to the capital campaign for expansion of Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie Baylor Medical Center Waxahachie

* Commit $35,000 to fund the start up and purchase of the first 7 home sites for Ellis County Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity Houses

Rider's dollars also provide 3 annual scholarships for WHS Junior Class students to attend Rotary's Camp Ryla for Student Leadership Training each summer.
In addition, ride dollars are used by Waxahachie Rotary to fund a host of similar "non capital investment" community "needs" and activities each year.
